PRINCIPAL'S PERSPECTIVE
Andrea Hunter
Kia ora koutou,
Greening Day was a huge success last week. The school raised $411.30 for Kids Greening Taupo. A total of 122 students across the school attended the planting day. Some of our student leaders from Kids Greening Taupō organised a competition between classes to see which class could collect the most rubbish. Room 10 won! Wouldn’t it be great if we couldn’t find any rubbish to pick up around the school because it either stayed in lunch boxes or went in the bin?
This week, we informed students and their whanau about the changes the school is making from Term 3 until the end of the year. Mrs. Christensen (Room 18) will go on maternity leave during Term 3, and Mrs. Potts (Room 15) is moving away from Taupō. The decision to move teachers within the school halfway through the year was not taken lightly. The school is utilising the expertise within the staff, and we also look forward to welcoming Mrs. Tracey Burley to Hilltop School next term.
Mr. Strange (Room 11) will move to Room 18, Mrs. Burley will teach in Room 11, Mrs. Tatere (Room 6) will teach in Room 15, and Mrs. Fullwood will teach in Room 6.
Ngā mihi nui,
