This week we have enjoyed some lovely autumnal weather that has allowed us to take part in many varied learning activities. On Monday we were excited to host the ‘STRIKE’ percussion group who performed for our Year 4 - 8 students. Their performance was amazing and showed how music can be expressed through the arts.
Our Maunga Tongariro students visited - Atea - Taupō’s newly completed picnic area displaying the intricately carved Pou, our local Museum and Library. They were able to enjoy a great learning experience with their teachers and peers. Thank you to those who were able to give their time to assist the teachers to make this trip possible.
Supersmash Cricket Festival took place today. Mr Bricklebank took a group of year 5-8 girls to have a great day of sport at Owen Delany Park. Team 2 won the Year 7 and 8 competition, congratulations girls! We have lots of enthusiastic cricketers in our midst. We have had an action packed term of learning, despite challenging environmental conditions at times, and are looking forward to a restful school holiday break with family and friends. As part of the Hilltop review process, we are gathering information from anyone whose child/ren have taken part in any EOTC event this term (including all Camps). Please go to this link to complete this form to help us in future planning, thank you.
Have a great break and we will see you after ANZAC Day on the 26th April.

5 Star Athletics
The Ruapehu students have been working extremely hard this term to improve their athletics skills while at the same time attempting to achieve an award in the 5 Star athletics challenge. Performance in five events, including a student’s best run, jump and throw will be added up and calculated using the 5 star scoring system. This will then determine which certificate a student will achieve.
World Book Day
Thank you to all the "book characters" who celebrated World Book Day on Monday - awesome effort, fantastic ideas from everyone and so hard to choose.....but here are the winners this year.
